We just took our Bendix S6LN-21 Mags in for a 500 hour inspection. One was orginal and one was a remanufactured on. copies of a 337 for the 0-300B
Does anyone have copies of previous field approvals for installing the 0-300B engine? This would really help my case with the FAA for getting this approved. The more proof I have the easier it will be. If so please send them to. Doug Lords 607 S. Belle Arbor Dr Idaho Falls, Id 83401 or e-mail them t...

prop to use
Here is another great question. I put on a McCauley DM 7653 standard prop, it bolted up just fine, and had the proper thread engagement. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Thanks
Thanks guys. The info has been a lot of help. I called the FAA today and had them look up the old tail number that this engine came off of, and would you be suprised, no 337 had been done back when this was installed in 1958. This engine was removed from the airplane back in 1992. As an A&P I fi...

Continental 0-300B
Recently I purchased a engine from a wrecked 1948 170 to be used on our 1952 170B. The engine a proped substained no damage. The Type Certificate Data sheet says that the engine should be a 0-300A. The only difference between the 0-300A and the 0-300B is that the 0-300B is setup for provisions so th...

Wing flap cove cutouts around flap tracks
Would anyone be able to take a picture of there wing T/E with the flaps down. We are in the process of modifying a set of cessna birddog wings for our 170B project. We had to remove the birddog flap tracks and install 170-172 style, and I don't know how big to make the cut out in the flap cove skin ...

Engine Baffling
We have a early model 170B with the older style cowling, and baffling setup. If you order a new baffle set out of like wag areo or spruce they don't have the shrouds that go over the top of the cylinders, what they do have is the baffling that goes on the outside of the cylinders on both sides. Has ...

continental 0-300B fuel pump
We just purchased a 0-300B that is going to go on our 170B project. The engine came off of a 170. The engine has a external fuel pump at the front R/H side (aft looking FWD). Why would there be a mechanical fuel pump on a carburated engine?

use of 172 wings
Do 1965 cessna 172F wings fit on a 1952 cessna 170B. I know that the early 100 series wings were all the same, but when did they change? I have a chance to by wings from a 1965 172F and a 1967 172H and was going to put them on my 170B. Just need to know if they will work
