Re: Flexible Oil Pressure Line

A side note here to a similar situation. I have the 180hp conversion, so I have an electric fuel pump and fuel pressure gauge in the panel. I have a copper line from the firewall to my fuel pressre gauge. I think it would be a good idea to replace that with a flex line also.

Re: 8.50x6 tires

I used to run Goodyear 4 grooved 8.50 recaps. I would v the groove. Figured if it was wider than it was deep there was less tendancy to pickup stones and wing em at my aluminum.
Happy to loan out the tool if anyone is interested.

Is there an stc for cowl latch replace, ent

I got the other style cowling I was looking for that has the latches on the sides. And as much as I like the look of the latches I here they can be troublesome. I have a buddy that thought there was an stc to replace the latches with some 1/4 turn fasteners. Anyone know of this? I also got my approv...

lift struts, 175 vs 170

I am in the process of putting 175 wings on my 17o to gain the extra fuel capacity. I was told the 175 lift strut was a little stronger and a perfect fit. Does anyone know about this? I also have an extra set of 175 fuel tanks in very good condition, cover skins, and electric fuel quantity gauges if...

Re: EZ Flap vs. Inertia Reels

I would recommend against any shoulder harness that permenantly attaches to the lap belt. When I flipped my 180, I had no problem releasing the lap belt but was still stuck hanging upside down by the lap belt/shoulder belt connection. Had I thought about it I could have cut them, but I didn't. And t...

Re: Center stack

Yes, not all U yokes are the same. I bought one from a guy here and the yoke shafts are quite a bit farther apart. No bueno por cheet
Now I am curious what U yoke would work.
And who makes the best AC unit. :)

Re: fuel caps leaking...too much venting????

I looked at the cap vent, appeared fine, but I may have to look closer. I have some other old caps. Probly stick a non vented cap up there and see what happens.I am hoping to long range fuel tanks soon, either with 175 tanks or 175 wings and tanks. Still looking for the best path for approval and tr...

fuel caps leaking...too much venting????

I am having gas coming from the area of the gas caps. The gaskets are tight. I am suspecting the gas is coming out of the vents in the caps. Both caps are vented, plus the large forward facing vent on top of the cabin. I was wondering if the pressure from the forward facing went was creating too muc...

Re: Avcon lord mounts and alignment??

Hey Paul I'm no cub pro, but when they do the thrust line mod, doesn't that raise the front of the engine, putting the line of the crank more in line with the direction of flight reducing drag and gaining them some speed?? I would suspect it might negatively affect the t/o performance some, but have...
